“Life
is a song. It has its own rhythm of harmony. It is a symphony
of all things which exist in major and minor keys of Polarity.
It blends the discords, by opposites, into a harmony which
unites the whole into a grand symphony of life. To learn through
experience in this life, to appreciate the symphony and lessons
of life and to blend with the whole, is the object of our
being here.”

What is Polarity Therapy?
Polarity Therapy is a holistic healing art based on balancing
life energy. Polarity Therapy was founded by Dr. Randolph
Stone, D.O., D.C., N.D., (1890-1981) who traveled around the
world studying and integrating many healing arts including
Chiropractic, Osteopathic, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Ayruveda,
and Chinese Medicine. Dr. Stone believed that life was much
more than chemistry and that healing was greater than freedom
from symptoms. He saw life as a spiritual journey based on
life energy principles and healing as our total alignment
with that journey.
Polarity Therapy is an energetic healing modality. At the
heart of Polarity Therapy is the view that each individual
is animated by a universal life energy. Imbalances in the
circulation of life energy lead to mental and emotional distress
and physical illness. When our life energy is balanced the
result is a healthy body and clarity of thought and emotion.
A Polarity Therapist is trained in different methods of finding
and correcting life energy imbalance which include hands-on
bodywork, counseling on nutrition; Polarity yoga; and verbal
counseling.
Polarity practitioners work from the premise that healing
comes from within and the practitioner and client work together
to allow the client's own inner healing response to emerge.
By developing an understanding and sensitivity to life energy
a Polarity practitioner can systematically evaluate its movement.
During the process of a Polarity bodywork session, a client
may spontaneously experience emotions and/or feel the need
to talk about their life. This often times happens when tense
and/or compressed tissues begin to relax and unwind. The Polarity
practitioner then reflects back a client's thoughts and emotions
while continuing to facilitate the unwinding process. At any
time the client may stop talking and the session then moves
naturally back to silent bodywork.
Polarity bodywork is very gentle and painless and Polarity
verbal communication is non-directive with the intention of
helping a client become aware of his or her process. A Polarity
practitioner may also recommend simple nutritional changes
and/or exercises to support the energy balancing. Polarity
session times vary based on the issue being addressed. Clients
are asked to wear loose fitting cotton clothing. The number
of sessions a client receives is based on individual needs
and progress. Most Polarity clients have sessions every week
or every other week. However different client's require different
interventions.
The
International Polarity Wellness™ Network
The International Polarity Wellness™ Network was developed
in 1990 by John Beaulieu, N.D., Ph.D. based on the Polarity
Wellness™ curriculum which was developed from 1979-1990
by the teachers of the Polarity Wellness™ Center of
New York. The Polarity Wellness™ Network interconnects
creative ideas for learning, teaching, and practicing Polarity
energy principles for high level wellness in all aspects of
living. Our courses are American Polarity Therapy Association
approved and lead to Associate Polarity Practitioner and Registered
Polarity Practitioner Registration. Students who study courses
at one network location can transfer their credits to another
without question.
There are no memberships in the IPWN. We are a group of qualified
Polarity Therapy teachers that want to relate with each other
for mutual support and to serve our students through a proven
curriculum. Using a common curriculum provides many advantages
for both teachers and students. The curriculum provides as
a common ground for communication and students can move from
location to location and have a greater choice of teachers
and learning environments.
Polarity Wellness™ and BioSonic Repatterning™
form a seamless relationship. BioSonic Repatterning™
utilizes Polarity evaluation and assessment to determine different
BioSonic procedures from tuning forks to color and light therapies.
Polarity creates an ideal professional and clinical environment
for the practice of BioSonic Repatterning™. Through
the study of Polarity the Sound Healer can earn a professional
credential that truly supports their work.
The Associate level Polarity training is ideal for those
wanting to be sound and music healers. It provides a professional
base which includes membership in a professional association,
mal-practice insurance, a code of ethics, and a community
that will understand and support your work in sound healing. TOP

Talking
About Polarity Therapy
One of the greatest challenges that we face as Polarity practitioners
is telling others about Polarity Therapy. I have heard a lot
of strange answers to the question: "What is Polarity
Therapy?."
Professional
Supervision, American Polarity Association Newsletter March
1994
I tell my students that practicing Polarity without proper
supervision is like swimming alone in an ocean of unpredictable
currents. Professional supervision is a key to professional
success and peace of mind. It is important to know when and
how to utilize professional supervision.
Polarity
Lifestyle
Taking a stand on diversity opens the doorway for us to reexamine
our relationship to Dr. Stone's lifestyle and beliefs related
to the practice of Polarity Therapy. When Dr. Stone wrote
and taught he often times intertwined his own beliefs with
the energy principles he was setting forth.
Creative
Nutrition "An Energy Approach"
Imagine being so attuned to yourself that you know exactly
what foods to eat. Rather than consulting a book or an expert
on "right eating", you could tune into yourself
for the answer. Knowing which foods to eat is an art based
on our inner ability to know what is good for ourselves.
The
Language of Power and Empowerment
It is important to understand the subtle impact of language
during Polarity sessions and classroom instruction.
Cranial
Explorations And Exercises
Our cranium is the crown of creation. The Old Kings and Queens
of Europe and the Orient placed special metals and jewels
on their heads during a Holy Ritual. TOP
