BioSonics’ Sound School

The Sound School was founded in 1985 by Dr. John Beaulieu to promote artistic, healing, and scientific dialogue on sound as well as the relationship of sound to energy medicine and consciousness. The curriculum is presented in two primary programs, which can be taken separately or consecutively, followed by a practicum seminar required for certification. The purpose of the seminars are to teach you how to use sound to enhance your life as well as to teach healing artists (including doctors, nurses, counselors, chiropractors, massage therapists, cranial practitioners, creative arts therapists, energy healers, yoga instructors, meditators, and spiritual seekers) how to integrate sound into their practice based on scientific research and clinical studies. All seminars include theory, guided group and individual experience, case studies, and discussion.

Distance Learning

You can begin your sound healing studies at any time through Dr. Beaulieu’s books and DVD’s. Each DVD is an in-depth presentation of an important sound healing topic and/or skill and lasts 1hr 40min. If you have taken a class with Dr. Beaulieu the DVD’s are excellent ways to review and further integrate your lessons, and if you have watched the DVD prior to class then you will be better prepared. Ideal learning involves both in person instruction and structured distance learning / homework. Students who work with distance learning and attend class will be given discounts on all in-person classes.

Special Topic Classes

The purpose of Special Topic Classes is to promote leaning and discussion on the importance of sound in different fields of knowledge as well as to develop advanced skill levels in different areas. The courses are taught by Dr. Beaulieu and/or leaders in the field of sound healing, the arts, music therapy, energy medicine, counseling, and spirituality whom Dr. Beaulieu invites to share their knowledge and skills.
